THANK YOU, GOD

As citizens of the U.S.A. this week observe an annual day of national Thanksgiving,
I am particularly grateful to God . . .

For a loving heavenly Father,
for Jesus Christ our Savior
and for the Holy Spirit who is personally present;

For having a 62nd birthday,
for good health of almost every sort,
for medicine that controls Parkinson's disease;

For Sara Faye, devoted wife of 39 years,
for wonderful children Melanie and Jeremy
and their spouses Michael and Kristy
who love God and their respective mates;
for Houston grandchildren Julia and Zeke,
Dallas grandchildren Brynna and Addy;
for a godly mother who supports me in everything that is good;
and for a 94-year-old mother-in-law who is always grateful;

For a wonderful day job to pay the bills,
pleasant colleagues
and a commute through the countryside
to and from work;

For the freedoms and prosperity of our country;
for the colors and coolness of this season;
for opportunities to know good people,
to visit interesting places
and to serve God, his people
and those who do not know him yet;

For Christian brothers and sisters locally and universally
who assemble in Jesus' name under a variety of signboards,
for the privilege of producing gracEmail
and for the fellowship and encouragement
of my gracEmail family
around the world.
